Fundado em Istambul em 2023, o Comité dos Festivais Mundiais de Cinema atingiu o seu terceiro ano com quase 120 membros de festivais de cinema provenientes de 68 países. Neste aspeto, detém a distinção de ser o primeiro e único comité do género no mundo. Com o objetivo de construir pontes culturais entre nações, o CINETOUR continua a expandir a sua rede global, acolhendo todos os anos novos festivais e países membros. Criado para reforçar a cooperação e a solidariedade entre festivais de cinema em todo o mundo, a importância e influência internacional do CINETOUR continuam a crescer de forma constante.
A MISSÃO CULTURAL DO CINETOUR…
O CINETOUR – o Comité dos Festivais Mundiais de Cinema – é uma plataforma internacional dedicada a construir ligações duradouras entre países, culturas e sociedades através da linguagem universal do cinema. Fundada em Istambul, esta iniciativa evoluiu rapidamente para uma forte rede global de cooperação, destacando o potencial único do cinema para promover a paz, o diálogo e a diversidade cultural. O CINETOUR prossegue a sua missão em alinhamento com a visão da UNESCO sobre o património cultural, os princípios de cooperação cultural da União Europeia e os objetivos das Nações Unidas para uma paz sustentável.

Ao reunir festivais de cinema de diversas regiões do mundo, o CINETOUR abraça a diversidade cultural como um valor partilhado e uma fonte de força. Cada festival contribui com a sua própria história, identidade e perspetiva para esta plataforma comum, criando um espaço inclusivo para o diálogo universal através do cinema. Estes encontros promovem a compreensão intercultural e ajudam a substituir o preconceito por empatia e valores partilhados. Do Japão aos Estados Unidos, da África do Sul ao Reino Unido, 120 festivais que representam diferentes culturas reúnem-se sob o guarda-chuva do CINETOUR. O objetivo comum desta família global vibrante é promover a cooperação cultural e a solidariedade internacional.

No seu terceiro ano, o CINETOUR cresceu e tornou-se uma forte família global, reunindo quase 120 festivais de cinema de 68 países. Esta família é construída sobre amizades transfronteiriças, experiências partilhadas e aspirações coletivas. Cada novo membro reforça ainda mais este espírito de solidariedade global e amplifica o poder unificador do cinema em todo o mundo. À medida que novos países se juntam à família CINETOUR, as responsabilidades do comité expandem-se em conformidade. A CINETOUR considera o empoderamento das mulheres e dos jovens na indústria cinematográfica uma responsabilidade fundamental. O recém-nomeado Conselho de Administração traz uma visão renovada e uma forte sinergia ao CINETOUR. Composto por líderes de diversas origens culturais e geográficas, o conselho opera com uma mentalidade coletiva para aumentar o impacto global do comité. Esta estrutura reflete um modelo de governação contemporâneo baseado no pluralismo e na tomada de decisão partilhada. Presidido por Can Saraçoğlu, o conselho inclui representantes de Portugal (D. Alfredo Souto Neves Corte-Real), Estados Unidos, Geórgia, Itália, Alemanha, Tunísia, Japão, Ucrânia, África do Sul, Kosovo e outros países, reforçando o caráter verdadeiramente internacional do CINETOUR.

O Congresso dos Festivais Mundiais de Cinema é um dos principais projetos de visão do CINETOUR e encontra-se atualmente em preparação. O congresso proporcionará uma plataforma global para discutir o futuro do cinema, a cooperação cultural e o papel em evolução dos festivais de cinema. With over 30 years of experience in the audiovisual sector and a proven record of international achievements, Saraçoğlu has earned the trust and support of all members. His extensive background in production, festival organization, and international events is now dedicated to strengthening the CINETOUR family. Having deep insight into the needs, challenges, and aspirations of festivals, he remains committed to transferring this expertise to the global festival community. Believing that festivals are the vital energy source of the cinema industry, Saraçoğlu emphasizes that CINETOUR’s mission is to support and empower these institutions.
“THE FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS” IS BEING ORGANIZED…
With the vision of creating a “festival of festivals,” CINETOUR is implementing an innovative organizational model that brings film festivals from around the world together. The World Film Festivals Congress stands as one of CINETOUR’s flagship vision projects and is currently in preparation. The congress will provide a global platform to discuss the future of cinema, cultural cooperation, and the evolving role of film festivals. Guided by principles of peaceful dialogue, collective wisdom, and sustainable cultural policies, the congress aims to bring together conferences, workshops, panels, presentations, film music concerts, screenings, and award ceremonies, positioning itself as a major international meeting point for the global film festival community.
